Use Codex or Claude to create and schedule social content with DoroSocial

2026-07-18

AI tools are good at drafting content. The part that still gets messy is everything after the draft: deciding which platforms need which version, keeping the source material attached, scheduling the posts, and checking what actually published.

That is where DoroSocial fits. You can use an AI agent like Codex or Claude to prepare platform-native posts, then use DoroSocial as the workspace where source content, drafts, scheduling, and publishing status stay together.

If you have DoroSocial Pro API access, the agent can work from the public API docs. If you do not, the same prompt can still produce a clean manual scheduling plan you can paste into DoroSocial.

The workflow

Start with one source asset:

  • a video transcript,
  • a blog draft,
  • release notes,
  • a customer question,
  • a founder note,
  • or a rough idea.

Then ask your AI agent to turn it into platform-native posts instead of copying the same caption everywhere.

The practical flow is:

  1. Give the AI agent the source material.
  2. Give it your DoroSocial API docs or ask for a manual fallback.
  3. Have it create platform-specific posts.
  4. Review the output.
  5. Create or schedule the posts in DoroSocial.
  6. Check publishing status after the scheduled time.

The goal is not unattended posting. The goal is less blank-page work and a cleaner operating system for distribution.

What DoroSocial provides

DoroSocial gives the content workflow a place to live.

Use it to:

  • create source content items,
  • keep notes, links, and transcripts attached,
  • create platform post drafts,
  • publish now or schedule for later,
  • and read publishing status when a post succeeds or fails.

Free users can use DoroSocial as a manual content workspace within plan limits. Pro users get API tokens for agent, script, and integration workflows.

API tokens are available from Settings > API tokens for paid, email-verified users. Tokens should be treated like passwords and should never be pasted into public chats, screenshots, logs, or source code.

Copy-paste prompt

Use this prompt with Codex, Claude, or another AI agent.

You are my content operations agent.

Goal:
Turn the source material below into 5 platform-native social posts and prepare them for scheduling in DoroSocial.

Context:
I use DoroSocial to organize, draft, schedule, and publish content across connected social channels. If API or MCP access is available, use the DoroSocial API/docs I provide. If not, produce a clean scheduling plan I can paste into DoroSocial manually.

Instructions:
1. Read the source material.
2. Extract the strongest 3-5 ideas.
3. Create 5 posts:
   - 1 LinkedIn post
   - 1 X/Twitter post
   - 1 Threads post
   - 1 short-form video caption/script
   - 1 alternate hook-first post
4. Make each post native to the platform instead of copying the same text everywhere.
5. Add a suggested publish date/time for each post.
6. Add tags:
   - content:ai-agent-playbook
   - theme:content-automation
   - theme:api
   - audience:technical-creator
7. If using the DoroSocial API, create the content items and schedule them.
8. If an API action fails, explain exactly what failed and provide the manual fallback.

Source material:
[PASTE BLOG, TRANSCRIPT, NOTES, PRODUCT UPDATE, OR IDEA HERE]

DoroSocial API/docs:
[PASTE API DOCS, MCP SERVER DETAILS, OR RELEVANT ENDPOINT NOTES HERE]

What to give the agent

For a manual workflow, give the agent your source material and ask it to create a scheduling plan.

For an API workflow, also provide:

Do not paste API tokens into public or shared AI sessions.

Example output to ask for

Ask the agent to return a structured plan before it creates or schedules anything:

Return:
- Source content title
- Summary of source material
- 5 platform-native posts
- Recommended publish times
- DoroSocial tags
- Any missing context
- Manual fallback steps

That review step matters. You should be able to catch weak hooks, unsupported claims, wrong platform choices, or a bad schedule before anything goes live.

Why this is better than one copied caption

The same idea usually needs different packaging.

LinkedIn may need more context. X may need a sharper opinion. Threads may need a lighter conversational angle. Short-form video needs a hook and caption that make sense beside the video.

Using an AI agent for the first pass helps with speed. Using DoroSocial for the operating layer keeps the work from turning into scattered drafts, random notes, and forgotten scheduled posts.

When to use the API

Use the API when you want repeatable automation:

  • recurring content batches,
  • agent-generated post drafts,
  • scheduled posts from source material,
  • status checks after publish time,
  • or an internal workflow that connects DoroSocial to your other tools.

Use the normal app when you are still testing your workflow or only need a few manual posts.
